MORE ABOUT HERNHILL CIDER

Small batches of traditional Kentish cider made using only freshly pressed juice from our own small orchard, and other selected local orchards. Nothing is added except a pinch of cider yeast, then allowed to ferment and mature. 

Served cool, it is light and crisp in character, and quite easy to drink, despite the reasonably high ABV.  

 

THE CHOICES FOR 2019....

DRY  8.5% 

Fully fermented and bottle conditioned, apples only.
Apple varieties include Discovery, Worcester, Cox, Bramley, Egremont Russet and Crab.
No sulphites, chemicals or other additives.

MEDIUM DRY  7.5%

Fully fermented and bottle conditioned. Mostly apples, some pears for natural sweetness [pears contain a proportion of non fermentable sugar], and a few quince for balance.
No sulphites, chemicals or other additives.

MEDIUM  5.5%

Made by blending the dry cider with pure apple juice, to increase sweetness and reduce the alcohol %.
Bottled, allowed to ferment/bottle condition for a few days, then gently pasteurised in the sealed bottle to fix the strength and sweetness without needing any chemicals, sulphites or other preservatives.

MEDIUM RHUBARB  5.5%

Made by blending the medium dry cider with pure apple juice and real rhubarb essence.
Bottle conditioned and pasteurised, no sulphites or preservatives

MULLED MEDIUM  5.5%

As the medium sweet, but mulled with lemon and orange peel, cassia, nutmeg, cloves allspice and ginger.
[good drank warm or cool, also great for slow cooking ham in]
Pasteurised in the bottle, no sulphites or preservatives.
